• he/she will gain confidence in reading, which in turn will greatly enhance his/her reading ability and foster a true love for reading;

• when he/she hears a new word, he/she will have a greater chance of being able to work out how to spell it, even if he/she has never learnt, seen or heard that word before;

• once your child has learnt the different sounds of English and how to blend them together, he/she will be able to read approximately 90% of the words of the English language.

This gives a far greater proportion of children the chance to read more fluently from an earlier age.
