GENERAL CANTONESE - ELEMENTARY LEVEL

Our Elementary Level course is designed for false beginners who have a basic foundation in Cantonese. Lessons are designed to help you refine your pronunciation - making accurate use of the tones - increase your listening comprehension and speaking skills, and to boost your confidence when communicating in Cantonese.

The main focus is on active communication in real-life situations, with the learning of new functional expressions, additional vocabulary, and more complex sentence structures, all practised through interactive situations and role-play scenarios.

The ultimate objective being for you to be able to obtain any information that you need, and to communicate what you want as quickly and as effectively as possible.

T opics include: home and family life; jobs and occupations; describing people; telephoning and making appointments; indicating locations, asking for and giving directions; at the post office; travel and transports; at the travel agent's; expressing preferences and making comparisons; hobbies and sports; food and drink; clothes; describing a flat; making suggestions; asking for help; describing feelings; talking about the weather; travelling experiences; sightseeing around Hong Kong; and polite social talk.

By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate effectively in Cantonese in a broad range of everyday situations with a local relevance.
