TestDaf
The TestDaf (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache - Test of German as a Foreign Language) is a language test for learners of German at an intermediate to high level of language proficiency. It covers levels B2 to C2 of the six-level scale of competence in the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for Modern Languages (CEF). The TestDaf is approved as a language proficiency test for entrance to university and is recognised by every university in Germany. TestDaF 5 (TDN 5) is the highest level. A level of TDN 4 shows that you are linguistically qualified to study at any German university.
Within his/her level, your child will:
- develop proficiency, fluency, accuracy and confidence;
- learn to communicate in German appropriately in a range of contexts and for a variety of purposes, including adopting a justified position in discussions and conversations, weighing up alternatives and making hypotheses;
- extend his/her competence in reading comprehension and writing, including describing, summarizing and comparing data;
- become familiar with the structure and general content of the examinations through guided practice with sample tests - with appropriate marking and performance reports.
He/she will grow naturally in self-confidence as a result of the experience, and will raise his/her level of German to new heights.
