TCF, TCF DAP
The TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français) is a French language proficiency test awarded by the French Ministry of Education. It is widely recognised in the European Union as well as by different international bodies. It is usually required for foreign students' enrolment by most French universities.
- TCF evaluates the general language level of the candidate. It is intended for non-native French speakers who wish to have their level of competency in French assessed and officially certified.
- TCF does not require any specific qualifications or preparation. It involves three compulsory tests: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension and Mastery of Language Structures. Students may also take two optional tests: Writing and Speaking.
- All candidates receive a certificate of results that grades them at one of six levels (from A1 to C2) on the competency scale defined by the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for Modern Languages (CEF).
- As the TCF is a language assessment test, it is not possible to fail the TCF.
